Abelardo de la Espriella Leads Colombian Presidential Runoff Polls

Two recent opinion polls commissioned for Colombia’s second‑round presidential election show candidate Abelardo de la Espriella holding a solid lead over left‑wing rival Iván Cepeda. The Guarumo poll records de la Espriella at 52.6 % versus Cepeda’s 45.0 %, while Atlas Intel reports 52.2 % for de la Espriella against 44.5 % for Cepeda, a margin of roughly seven to eight points.

Both surveys, conducted under the country’s restrictive polling law that limits polling to CNC, Guarumo and Atlas Intel, suggest de la Espriella is likely to exceed the 50 % threshold needed to win the runoff scheduled for 21 June. The consistent advantage across the two firms points to a decisive advantage for the right‑leaning candidate as the election approaches.
