Abelardo de la Espriella government shifts peace policy and personnel

The administration of President Abelardo de la Espriella has implemented several significant shifts in policy and personnel. The government officially terminated three peace dialogue processes originally established under Gustavo Petro's administration. These processes involved groups including the Estado Mayor de los Bloques y Frente (Embf), the Cneb, and the Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra Nevada (Acsn). President De la Espriella characterized these negotiations as 'false peace' and 'false dialogue,' citing a lack of genuine will to submit to justice. Consequently, the government has revoked the status of group representatives as official spokespersons and ordered the reactivation of arrest warrants for members of the Acsn.

In terms of government communications, Carolina Gómez will no longer serve as a spokesperson for the administration. While reports suggested controversy regarding her professional credentials, Gómez stated she declined the role after being offered a different, more attractive position within the government. Miller Soto will now serve as the administration's sole official spokesperson.

Additionally, the government intervened in the leadership selection of the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure. Following pressure from Transport Minister Elsa Noguera, the chamber's board reversed its decision to appoint Carolina Soto as president, leading to a new selection process.
