Abelina López Rodríguez meets with Acapulco fishing cooperatives

Abelina López Rodríguez met with fishing cooperative leaders in Acapulco to discuss support for the local fishing industry. During the meeting, López Rodríguez emphasized the need for government action to address the challenges faced by fishers, including unpredictable conditions caused by climate change and safety concerns at sea.

She highlighted previous administrative efforts in Acapulco to increase financial support for fishing gear, noting that subsidies rose from 11,000 to 41,000 pesos. Additionally, she mentioned projects aimed at restoring oyster banks damaged by Hurricane Otis and expressed a need for better communication mechanisms to ensure the safety of vessels in open waters.
