ABEMA announces free movie and anime streaming lineups for August

The internet television service ABEMA has announced several free streaming initiatives for August 2026.

Under the ‘ABEMA Cinema Night’ project, the platform will broadcast selected masterpiece films every Friday at 20:00 on its Drama and Movie channel. The August lineup includes titles such as ‘Inakunare, Gunjou’ on August 14, ‘Chotto Omoidashita Dake’ on August 21, and ‘Kyou no Sora ga Ichiban Suki, to Mada Ienai Boku wa’ on August 28. Related works will also be available for free streaming for one week following the broadcasts.

Additionally, as part of the ‘Anime 200 Free Works Festival,’ ABEMA will host a ‘Heisei Girls Anime Special’ starting August 16. This feature includes marathon broadcasts of popular series such as ‘Aikatsu!’ (seasons 1 through 4 and the theatrical film), ‘Tamagotchi!’, and ‘Shugo Chara!’. Following their respective broadcast times, all episodes of these series will remain available for free viewing for one week.
