ABEMA program profiles 11-member family with 14-year age gap

The ABEMA original variety program ‘Damattterarenai Onnatachi season 3’ featured a segment on an 11-member family consisting of a couple with a 14-year age difference and their nine children.

Ami (42) and Takahito (28) have been married for seven years. Their relationship began ten years ago when Ami, then a 32-year-old single mother of four, met Takahito while he was working part-time at a gas station. Despite the age gap and initial opposition from those around them, Takahito pursued a serious relationship, even presenting a handmade engagement ring crafted from a hexagonal nut from his workplace.

The couple married when Takahito was 20 years old. The program highlighted their close bond, which their children described as being so affectionate that it was “scary,” noting how the parents remain constantly close.
