ABEMA schedules special sports show and 'Space Brothers' finale broadcasts for July‑August 2026

Japan’s streaming platform ABEMA announced two upcoming special broadcasts. On July 22, 2026 the network will air a new episode of its sports program ABEMA Sports Time, featuring former MLB player Sōsuke Kawasaki, former Japan soccer international Junichi Inamoto and guest game‑streamer Junichi Kato in his second appearance. The show will cover the Japan national team’s World Cup captain Kōta Itakura’s off‑field activities, a preview of the seven‑a‑side “King’s League” exhibition that Kato’s MURASH FC will contest in Italy, and a look‑ahead to the 2026 MyNavi All‑Star Game.

ABEMA will also air a dedicated special on the completion of the popular manga‑anime series “Space Brothers.” On August 2, 2026 a free, exclusive program titled “Space Brothers: Deconstruction” will give viewers behind‑the‑scenes access to author Chūya Koyama’s writing of the final chapter. The network will run free, on‑demand repeats of all 99 anime episodes and the associated film throughout August, and feature voice‑actor appearances on a separate anime‑focused show on July 31. Both events are part of ABEMA’s 2026 programming slate aimed at celebrating major Japanese pop‑culture milestones.
