Aberdeen International Airport unveils £2.5m passenger experience upgrade
Aberdeen International Airport has announced the next phase of its £2.5 million ‘ABZ Reimagined’ programme, a transformation project aimed at upgrading the passenger experience ahead of summer 2027.
The investment focuses on expanding retail and dining facilities within the terminal. Key developments include combining the post-security WHSmith and InMotion stores into a single, larger unit to provide a more extensive shopping environment. Additionally, restaurant facilities will be expanded to offer increased seating capacity and greater flexibility for passengers.
The project is being developed in partnership with strategic design consultancy Portland Design, which has established Retail Design Guidelines to ensure consistency in design quality and commercial performance across the terminal. The rollout will occur in phases, with a competitive tender process currently underway for various retail and food and beverage opportunities.
