The TrydaNi electric‑vehicle car club launched in the Welsh town of Abergavenny in June and quickly grew, with members averaging nearly one booking per day in July. On 29 July the scheme was featured on the BBC’s The One Show, where a spokesperson for Greener Abergavenny called it a “nationwide pioneer”. Participants highlighted a successful day‑trip to London and other group outings, and the club’s WhatsApp group facilitates coordination among users. Organisers say the scheme still has capacity for new members and are considering adding a second vehicle if demand continues.

The national television exposure has boosted the programme’s profile, positioning it as a model for community‑based sustainable transport across the UK.
