Abha Club management threatens resignation over coaching impasse

The management of the Saudi Arabian football club Abha has threatened to resign collectively if the Professional League's Financial Oversight Commission does not approve the dismissal of head coach Damir Burić.

Abha currently sits in last place (18th) in the league after nine matches, recording seven losses and two draws with only two points. The club's leadership has sought to replace Burić since mid-September, following a loss to Al-Nassra, but has been unable to secure the necessary regulatory approval to terminate his contract due to financial oversight protocols.

Algerian coach Noureddine Ben Zekri, known in the region for helping clubs avoid relegation, has been identified as a primary candidate to succeed Burić.
