Abhay Singh Grewal death rumors debunked by Hisar Police

Hisar Police have debunked viral social media rumors claiming the death of Abhay Singh Grewal, popularly known as ‘IIT Baba’. The false reports suggested his body was found in a hotel in Hisar, but authorities clarified that the deceased individual was actually a former student of IIT Roorkee. The confusion reportedly arose due to the shared connection to the IIT institution.

Following the rumors, Abhay Singh reportedly contacted his family via telephone. Observers have also noted a significant change in his appearance; he has moved away from his previous ascetic look, having cut his long hair and replaced his traditional saffron clothing with kurta-pyjamas.

While he was recently seen in Vrindavan, current reports indicate he is residing in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. He previously married Preetika, an engineer from Karnataka, in February 2026 at the Anjanghar Shiva Temple in Dharamshala.
