Abhijit Deepke to announce Kakroach Janata Party plans as funding probe looms

The Kakroach Janata Party (CJP) will convene on August 5 at the home of its founder Abhijit Deepke to discuss the party’s next phase of protest following the nationwide demonstrations over the NIT exam paper leak. A press conference is expected to follow the meeting, where new strategies and demands may be announced.

Separately, Gujarat‑based RTI activist Amit Tiwari has filed a complaint with the Maharashtra government and the Election Commission of India seeking an investigation into the financial sources of Deepke’s father, Bhagwan Rao Deepke, a retired junior engineer who earned a modest salary. The complaint also questions whether CJP is properly registered as a political party under the Representation of the People Act.
