Abhishek Sharma hones bowling skills under father's guidance

Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma has been working to improve his left-arm spin bowling under the guidance of his father, Raj Kumar Sharma. Raj Kumar, a former district-level cricketer and Abhishek's childhood coach, has been supervising his training sessions, including spot bowling practice.

Abhishek has previously demonstrated his potential as a bowling option, notably during the 2024 Indian Premier League Qualifier 2 for SunRisers Hyderabad, where he took two wickets and conceded 24 runs in four overs. His career T20 statistics include 58 wickets at an economy rate of 7.64.

While his recent batting performance during India's tour of Zimbabwe was noted as disappointing, he remains a significant player for the national team, having recorded 1,629 career runs with a strike rate of 187.24.
