Abia State farmers endorse PDP candidate Kelechi Anosike

Over 40,000 farmers under the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Abia State chapter, have endorsed Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the February 6, 2027, governorship election.

AFAN State Chairman Mike Okezie announced the endorsement following a meeting at Anosike’s campaign office in Umuahia. The association cited Anosike’s proposed agricultural policies as the primary reason for their support, specifically highlighting initiatives such as ‘Operation Feed Abia’, the restoration of agricultural extension services, farm mechanization, and the revitalization of farm settlements.

In response, Anosike approved the creation of a Farmers Directorate within his campaign council to ensure representation from farmers across the state. He pledged to improve rural infrastructure through a proposed Rural Development Agency and to boost food production through grants and modern farming practices.
