Abia State Governor Alex Otti approves N1m relief for South Africa returnees

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved the disbursement of one million naira each to 31 verified indigenes of the state who were recently repatriated from South Africa. The funds are intended as an interim support measure to provide immediate relief to the returnees.

According to a statement from Chief Press Secretary Njoku Ukoha, the state government is currently conducting a comprehensive profiling of each returnee. This process aims to assess their individual socio-economic realities to help the government design tailored interventions for sustainable reintegration and social protection coverage.
