Abia State University urges ASUU to return to negotiations amid strike

The management of Abia State University (ABSU) has called for the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU-ABSU) to return to negotiations following the commencement of an indefinite strike.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Ndukwe J. Okeudo stated that the strike began despite ongoing discussions between university management, the Abia State Government, and other governing authorities. Management noted that some union demands predate the current administration but expressed optimism that the issues could be resolved through continued dialogue.

University officials have urged students to remain calm while management works to maintain a peaceful industrial environment and protect the institution's academic mission.
