North Zone advances to Duleep Trophy semifinals

In the Duleep Trophy quarterfinals, North Zone advanced to the semifinals after defeating West Zone by 52 runs at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The match was defined by a standout performance from Jammu & Kashmir left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq, who claimed match figures of 9 for 99 and was named player of the match.

West Zone appeared to be in a strong position following a 111-run partnership between Musheer Khan (96) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (66), but the momentum shifted after Gaikwad was run out. West Zone was eventually bowled out for 234 while chasing a target of 287, with Mushtaq and Nishant Sindhu cleaning up the lower order on the final morning.

In a separate quarterfinal fixture, East Zone secured a dominant innings and 210-run victory over North East Zone. Shahbaz Ahmed scored 167 and Sudip Kumar Gharami added 146 to help East Zone reach a total of 467. Anukul Roy took five wickets to complete the win. North Zone will face South Zone in the semifinals, while East Zone will play Central Zone.
