Abidjan to host food security forum and agroforestry financial inclusion workshop
Abidjan is set to host the second edition of the International Forum of Analytical Sciences and Quality Control (FISACQ) from September 23 to 25, 2026. Organized by the African Learned Society of Quality Control (2SACQ), the event focuses on the theme “Food Security and Health: Analytical Challenges and Innovative Responses.” The forum aims to promote a culture of quality and use scientific solutions to protect public health, the environment, and African economic competitiveness.
In a separate development, the State-Private Sector Consultation Committee (CCESP) held a workshop in Abidjan on September 2, 2026, regarding financial inclusion for agroforestry companies. The initiative seeks to strengthen the security and traceability of financial transactions in forested areas. Discussions emphasized the need for rural actors to access adapted credit, agricultural insurance, and digital payment solutions to combat poverty and improve competitiveness within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
