Abidjan to host International Sustainable Development Forum in 2026

The first edition of the International Sustainable Development Forum (FIDD) is scheduled to take place on October 13 and 14, 2026, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Held at the CGECI in the Plateau district, the event aims to gather over 3,000 participants, including experts and international delegations, to discuss transforming economic models for responsible growth.

Organizers, led by General Commissioner Tra Bi Michael, announced the details during a press conference in Cocody. The forum will focus on key sectors such as the green and circular economy, green finance, sustainable agribusiness, carbon markets, and the impact of artificial intelligence on innovation.

To engage the international community and the diaspora, an official launch event is planned for September 19, 2026, at the Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire in Paris. The program will feature workshops, B2B meetings, exhibitions, and a job dating component designed to connect young talent with companies in the ecological transition sector.
