Abigail Arredondo proposes energy and health reforms in Mexico
Abigail Arredondo Ramos, president of the PRI state committee in Querétaro and a federal deputy, has presented several legislative proposals to the Chamber of Deputies addressing energy, health, and labor issues.
Regarding energy, Arredondo raised concerns over recurrent power outages affecting all 18 municipalities in Querétaro. She submitted a point of agreement requesting that the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) strengthen its actions to guarantee a stable supply. She noted that these interruptions impact families, businesses, and industries, causing economic damage through the loss of food and the need to repair electrical equipment. Arredondo emphasized that the state's economic and population growth requires improved electrical infrastructure and better coordination between the CFE, state government, and municipalities.
In the health sector, Arredondo proposed incorporating a Universal Cardiac Screening into the General Health Law. This initiative aims to implement gradual and periodic studies—including blood pressure, glucose, electrocardiograms, and lipid profiles—to detect cardiovascular risk factors early. The proposal follows data from INEGI identifying heart disease as a leading cause of death.
