AbilBeach records record growth in Priolo Gargallo

The AbilBeach initiative in Priolo Gargallo has concluded its 2026 season with record-breaking numbers, marking a significant expansion in accessible maritime services for the province of Siracusa. The program recorded 889 accesses this year, a substantial increase from the 282 recorded in 2023.

In addition to the rise in users, the operational period has expanded significantly. The 2026 season ran for 90 days, from June 17 to September 15, compared to just 40 days in 2023. To support this growth, new accessibility equipment was introduced, including an accessible pedal boat and a BluBeach chair, joining existing resources such as transparent canoes, Sole-Mare chairs, and Job chairs.

Local officials, including Mayor Pippo Gianni and Councilor Gipi Marullo, stated that preparations are already underway for the 2027 season to further enhance inclusivity and respond to increasing demand for improved coastal services.
