Abir Yasine and Rim Chehimi release fashion pattern making manual

Abir Yasine and Rim Chehimi, a mother and daughter from Dervio, have released a new fashion manual titled ‘Eleganza su carta. L’arte della modellistica sartoriale’ (Elegance on Paper: The Art of Sartorial Pattern Making).

Abir Yasine, a pattern maker and instructor at the Idi Institute specializing in bridal and haute couture, developed a practical and intuitive teaching method to simplify the complex theory of pattern making. Her daughter, Rim Chehimi, a fashion designer and pattern making instructor at Istituto Marangoni, contributed to the volume based on her professional experience.

The manual is designed for both fashion students and enthusiasts. It features a bilingual structure in Italian and English to facilitate international use and employs a modular didactic approach using detailed illustrations and diagrams to guide readers through processes such as anatomical measurement and garment fit.
