Żabka introduces courier bottle collection service in Poland

The retail chain Żabka has launched a new service to address consumer dissatisfaction with Poland's deposit return system. Starting October 1, residents in Krakow, Wroclaw, and the Upper Silesian Metropolis can arrange for a courier to collect deposit-eligible packaging directly from their homes.

Customers can request this service when placing orders via the delio.com.pl website or the Żabka Jush app. The service allows for the collection of up to four bags, each with a capacity of 60 liters. Instead of receiving vouchers, customers will receive their deposit refunds via bank transfer within 10 days.

The initiative aims to mitigate common complaints regarding the current system, such as the inconvenience of storing empty bottles, the unreliability of reverse vending machines, and the necessity of traveling to stores to return packaging.
