ABN AMRO and Bitpanda unveil AI tools for European investors

Austrian fintech platform Bitpanda has introduced an AI assistant that can access a user’s portfolio and, with permission, prepare and place orders. The chatbot works through the Model Context Protocol, allowing integration with services such as ChatGPT or Claude via an API key. It supports crypto, stocks, ETFs and precious metals and is being rolled out across Europe after an earlier US launch.

Dutch bank ABN AMRO announced a strategic partnership with French AI company Mistral to develop advanced, Europe‑built AI solutions for banking. The collaboration aims to reduce reliance on non‑European technology and to meet strict requirements for security, transparency, privacy and regulatory compliance. “In a rapidly changing world, Europe must remain digitally resilient,” said Carsten Bittner, Chief Innovation & Technology Officer of ABN AMRO. Mistral’s Chief Revenue Officer Marjorie Janiewicz highlighted the partnership’s focus on European values and autonomous AI development.
