Aboitiz Foundation brings solar power to remote Benguet school

SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet Inc. (SNAP-Benguet) and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI) have installed a 5-kWp hybrid solar power system at Kiweng Primary School in Benguet, Philippines. The project provides reliable electricity to 23 students and two teachers in the remote Barangay Ambuklao, Bokod area, which is accessible only by boat and foot.

The installation includes 10 Jinko Solar monocrystalline bifacial panels, a Deye hybrid inverter, and battery storage. To support digital education, an LED television was also provided. This initiative is part of the AuroraPH program, which aims to provide electricity, connectivity, and digital tools to geographically isolated schools. The program has expanded from an 11-school pilot to 53 schools, with a goal of reaching 300 schools nationwide.
