ABOL launches pharmaceutical logistics guide for operators
The Brazilian Association of Logistics Operators (ABOL) has released a practical guide focused on pharmaceutical logistics management. Developed over three years by industry professionals, the publication provides guidance on the storage, transport, and distribution of medicines and health products.
The guide incorporates regulatory requirements from Anvisa, specifically RDCs 430/2020, 938/2024, and 939/2024. It aims to translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable daily practices for logistics operators. Key topics covered include best practices, environmental safety, tax regimes, reverse logistics, and cross-docking definitions.
According to ABOL, approximately half of all logistics operators serve the pharmaceutical industry, with participation reaching nearly 90% among its affiliated companies. Ricardo Buteri, president of ABOL's Deliberative Council, noted that the guide represents a milestone in connecting industry, operators, and federal regulators to ensure quality throughout the entire ecosystem, including last-mile delivery.
