Abpip presents oil and gas proposals to Rio Grande do Norte candidates
The Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers (Abpip) has presented a strategic agenda of proposals to candidates for the government of Rio Grande do Norte. The initiative aims to strengthen oil and gas production in the state, where independent producers accounted for approximately 95.48% of the local production of oil and natural gas in 2025.
The proposed agenda includes maintaining tax and regulatory competitiveness, modernizing the Institute for Sustainable Development and Environment (Idema) through digitalization, and improving natural gas market governance via the state regulatory agency, Arsep. Additionally, the association seeks improvements in logistical infrastructure, a state strategy to increase natural gas consumption, and support for the revitalization of the Potiguar Basin.
