Abrantes to invest 200,000 euros in transport hub improvements
The Abrantes City Council has unanimously approved a project to construct three new modules at the city’s Transport Coordination Center. The estimated investment of approximately 200,000 euros aims to enhance passenger comfort, functionality, and accessibility.
The project includes the installation of a waiting room capable of seating 45 people, new sanitary facilities, and a ticket office. Additionally, the design incorporates dedicated parking spaces for bicycles and scooters to promote sustainable mobility and better integration between public transport and active travel modes.
The municipality intends to seek funding for this project through the Portugal 2030 program under the Active Mobility framework. Once awarded and commenced, the works are expected to be completed within a 60-day timeframe.
