Abruzzo advances social inclusion and equal opportunity initiatives

In the Abruzzo region of Italy, new initiatives are being launched to promote social inclusion and equal opportunities. The municipality of Gioia dei Marsi has officially joined the ‘On the Road’ program and has begun administrative procedures to establish a local Commission for Equal Opportunities. This program focuses on prevention and support regarding youth delinquency, the professional reintegration of women victims of violence, and the protection of minors.

Simultaneously, discussions regarding the professional reintegration of detainees are underway. Monia Scalera, the regional guarantor for persons under restrictive liberty measures in Abruzzo, emphasized during the ‘Sprigioniamo le competenze’ meeting that reintegration must begin during incarceration through training and work. The event, organized by Aidp Abruzzo and Molise, Cnel, and the Aidp Foundation, brought together institutions and businesses to discuss transforming inclusion principles into concrete professional pathways to foster social cohesion.
