Abruzzo approves aid for agriculture and local businesses

The Abruzzo regional government has approved several measures to support agriculture, local production, and community development. To address the impact of a severe hailstorm on July 21, 2026, the region has requested recognition of the event's exceptional nature, specifically targeting the municipalities of Bellante and Campli. Losses in these areas are estimated at approximately 2.66 million euros, representing 51% of the ordinary production value. The region has identified 1.24 million euros in aid for non-insurable agricultural structures, while an additional 1.41 million euros for production damage remains contingent on national legislation.

In response to drought conditions, the regional council increased the allocation of subsidized fuel for crops such as corn, sorghum, soy, and sunflower, raising the amount from 38.50 to 57.75 liters per hectare. Industrial tomato cultivation in the Fucino area has also been included in these measures.

Regarding economic development, the government allocated 1 million euros to establish rules for recognizing Master Artisans and School-Workshops. Additionally, 700,000 euros have been designated to support the creation and consolidation of community cooperatives. The region also confirmed its participation in Expo Belgrade 2027.
