Abruzzo citizens petition for night bus links to Rome

A petition has gathered over 500 signatures calling for the reinstatement of night bus services between Rome and the Abruzzo region. The initiative, led by citizen Florinda Artese, seeks to establish nocturnal connections from Rome Fiumicino, Ciampino, and Tiburtina stations to destinations including L'Aquila, Teramo, Colledara, and Giulianova.

Proponents of the petition highlight a significant gap in transportation for travelers arriving at Rome's airports after 21:30, noting that many flights land during hours when no buses are available to return to Abruzzo until the following morning. The petition requests a formal response from regional authorities regarding why these services, which existed prior to 2020, were discontinued and asks for a dialogue with transport operators to explore the possibility of experimental night routes.
