Abruzzo courts: Officials demand staffing clarity for regional judicial offices
Abruzzo regional councilors Massimo Verrecchia and Francesco Prospero of Fratelli d'Italia have called for urgent institutional attention regarding the status of several courts in the Abruzzo region. They are advocating for the acceleration of judicial reform to ensure the definitive restoration of the courts in Avezzano, Sulmona, Lanciano, and Vasto.
The councilors highlighted a discrepancy in a recent Ministry of Justice decree published on September 15. While the decree redefines the administrative staff organizational charts for judicial offices, the new tables for the L’Aquila district do not include the courts in Avezzano, Sulmona, Lanciano, and Vasto. This occurs despite the fact that these courts remain legally operational until January 1, 2027.
Verrecchia and Prospero are seeking immediate clarification to ensure that the absence of these offices from the new organizational charts does not penalize current staff or compromise the administrative resources necessary to maintain justice services in these locations.
