Abruzzo energy efficiency: nearly half of buildings in lowest classes

Data from the SIAPE information system indicates that nearly half of the real estate in Abruzzo, Italy, is in the lowest energy efficiency classes and requires requalification. Out of approximately 29,275 Energy Performance Certificates (APE) issued in the region in 2025, about 47% fell into classes F and G, representing 21.1% and 26.1% of the total respectively.

In contrast, only about 12% of the certificates belonged to the highest efficiency classes (A1 through A4). At the provincial level, L’Aquila (54%) and Chieti (50%) recorded the highest incidence of buildings in classes F and G. Teramo showed the highest proportion of high-efficiency certifications, with 15% of its buildings in class A.
