Abruzzo GDP growth reaches 9%, nearly doubling Italy's national average

Abruzzo's economy is growing at nearly double the national average, according to regional president Marco Marsilio. The region reported a GDP growth of approximately 9%, significantly outpacing Italy's national average of 5%.

This economic performance is driven by a diversified industrial base, including the pharmaceutical, agri-food, and automotive sectors. The region has also seen employment surpass 500,000 people, supported by an increase in female employment and stable contracts. Marsilio noted that Abruzzo has become a leading economic reference point for Southern Italy, maintaining the highest GDP per capita in the region with 32,700 euros.
