Hospitals in the Abruzzo region, specifically in L'Aquila and Pescara, have reported a significant increase in organ donations over the months of July and August. A total of five organ donations were recorded from donors aged between 50 and 81.

Through the coordinated efforts of intensive care units in both L'Aquila and Pescara, nine transplants were performed at the San Salvatore hospital in L'Aquila. These included nine kidney transplants. The donations also facilitated transplants in other regions, with organs such as hearts, livers, and lungs being sent to cities including Rome, Bergamo, Pisa, Bologna, and Siena.
