Abruzzo region announces various economic and development initiatives

The Abruzzo regional government has launched several initiatives aimed at economic development, territorial cohesion, and innovation. The region has signed a Framework Program Agreement (APQ) for the Piana del Cavaliere-Alto Liri area, securing 4 million euros in state resources and approximately 6 million euros in regional and European funds. A similar process is underway for the Valle del Sagittario-Alto Sangro area.

To combat marginalization and depopulation, the regional council approved 637,000 euros to support community cooperatives, particularly in mountainous and internal areas. These funds, managed through Fira Spa, will assist in the creation and management of new cooperatives, providing consultancy and administrative support.

In the business and innovation sectors, a delegation of ten startups and small to medium-sized enterprises from Abruzzo will participate in the SMAU 2026 event in Milan to connect with international investors and large corporations. Additionally, Federalberghi Abruzzo has announced the creation of a regional table dedicated to professional training for hospitality staff to address labor needs and ensure generational renewal in the tourism industry.
