Abruzzo Region demands freeze on Cima plant transfers

The Abruzzo Region has called on the company Cima to suspend any transfers of personnel or industrial plants at its San Salvo facility. Tiziana Magnacca, the Regional Councilor for Productive Activities, requested that the company honor previous agreements made in August and refrain from making unilateral decisions regarding the site's ownership or location.

Magnacca warned that moving the headquarters or property could result in “de facto individual dismissals,” leaving employees without adequate protections. The regional government aims to prevent the depletion of the production site and is seeking a shared path between the company, institutions, and trade unions.

A crisis meeting is scheduled for mid-September in Pescara to discuss alternatives to downsizing. The region emphasized Cima's strategic importance within the automotive supply chain and its role in the local economy.
