Abruzzo to host first regional tourism salon in Lanciano
The first regional tourism salon, ‘Piacere, Abruzzo!’, is scheduled to take place at Lanciano Fiera from October 2 to 4. The event aims to promote Abruzzo’s destinations to both Italian and international markets by bringing together tour operators, hospitality providers, and regional institutions.
A key component of the event is ‘BuyAbruzzo’, a professional networking format designed to connect international and national buyers with local tourism businesses. Daniele D’Amario, the regional undersecretary for tourism, stated the goal is to present Abruzzo as a single, competitive destination.
The initiative follows significant growth in the sector. In 2025, the region recorded 8.8 million visitors, a 23.3% increase, with international arrivals rising by over 40%. In the first half of 2026, international tourism grew by an additional 14%, making Abruzzo third in Italy for the percentage growth of the foreign market.
