Abruzzo villages proposal seeks regional legislative protection
The Association ‘I Borghi più belli d’Italia’ for Abruzzo and Molise held an assembly in Rocca San Giovanni to discuss and approve a proposed regional law aimed at protecting and enhancing 27 certified villages in Abruzzo.
The legislative draft was developed by a committee led by the Mayor of Rocca San Giovanni, Fabio Caravaggio, and coordinated by Vice Mayor Erminio Veri. The initiative seeks to provide these small centers with a modern legislative tool to support their economic and cultural value, promote tourism, and encourage residency.
Antonio Di Marco, president of the association for Abruzzo and Molise, stated that the goal is not merely to conserve heritage but to empower the villages through effective tools. The meeting included participation from 20 mayors and regional councilor Paolo Gatti, President of the Culture Commission, to facilitate dialogue with regional institutions.
