ABS opens specialty steel service center in Sweden

ABS – Acciaierie Bertoli Safau SpA, a steelmaking division of the Danieli Group, has inaugurated a new service center in Värnamo, Sweden. Operating under the name ABS Steel Nordic, the facility serves as a strategic hub for the Northern European market, specifically targeting Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

The center marks a shift in the company’s business model, moving from a pure producer of specialty steels to an integrated industrial partner. The facility offers stock availability, customized cutting services, dedicated logistics, and metallurgical consultancy. This approach aims to serve both large industrial clients and small-to-medium enterprises, such as mechanical workshops, by allowing for smaller order quantities.

The project was completed in approximately ten months, featuring automated and robotic cutting and handling systems. The facility has also achieved Miljöbyggnad Silver certification, reflecting an emphasis on sustainability and innovation within the high-performance steel sector.
