ABSA and Hopeful Hearts Foundation visit Sunshine Home for Girls

The Antigua and Barbuda Students’ Association (ABSA) of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and the Hopeful Hearts Foundation conducted a joint community outreach visit to the Sunshine Home for Girls in Johnson’s Point, Antigua, on August 8, 2026.

The initiative included the donation of essential items such as hygiene products, school supplies, hair-care products, and books. Beyond material support, members of the organizations engaged the residents in discussions regarding personal development, including topics such as consent, healthy boundaries, networking, overcoming bullying, and resilience.

The Sunshine Home for Girls, which operates under the Salvation Army, was established in 1992 to support vulnerable young women by providing protection, education, medical and emotional support, and spiritual guidance.
