Absa Bank Ghana commissions new headquarters in Accra
Absa Bank Ghana has officially commissioned its new state-of-the-art headquarters, Absa Place, in Accra. The ceremony, held on September 25, 2026, was attended by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and senior officials from the Bank of Ghana and Absa Group.
During the event, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the value of the new facility should be measured by its impact on financial accessibility rather than just its physical infrastructure. She urged the bank to expand credit access for women-owned businesses, young entrepreneurs, and sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and trade.
Additionally, the Vice President called for the use of technology to deepen financial inclusion while maintaining personalized service for those who require it. She also stressed the importance of robust cybersecurity measures to protect customer data and funds, ensuring continued confidence in the financial system. Matilda Asante Asiedu, Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, also noted that the investment should contribute to broader financial resilience.
