Absa Bank Seychelles introduces new Managing Director to President Herminie

Absa Group Executive for Africa Regions, Charles Russon, met with Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie to introduce Venus Hampinda as the newly appointed Managing Director of Absa Bank Seychelles. Hampinda was accompanied by Chairman Marc Houreau and Regional Executive for East Africa Saviour Chibiya.

Discussions between the bank executives and the President focused on modernising the Seychelles financial sector, increasing investment, and enhancing access to finance. President Herminie emphasized the need for a responsive banking environment that aligns with national development priorities, specifically calling for improved service speed and the expansion of digital solutions.

The President highlighted the potential use of SeyID to streamline account openings and loan applications. Additionally, the meeting addressed the role of commercial banks in supporting government-backed lending schemes for housing, education, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
