Absolute Batman expands with animated series and new action figure

DC Comics’ Absolute Batman franchise is expanding through both animation and high-end collectibles. DC Studios co-chair Peter Safran confirmed that an animated series adaptation of the Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta comic series is in development, with Snyder currently working on the scripts. Originally planned with a 3D aesthetic, Warner Bros. Animation has shifted the project to a 2D animated format.

In the collectibles market, Beast Kingdom has announced details for the Dynamic 8ction Heroes Absolute Batman (DAH-186) 1/9 scale action figure. The figure features a specialized muscular sculpt designed to reflect the character’s heavy frame from the Absolute Universe. It includes 22 points of articulation and accessories such as a battle axe, Batarangs, and an oversized cape. Pre-orders are opening globally, with shipping expected to begin in Q1 2027.
