Absolute Wonder Woman Vol. 1 comic explores new DC Universe

The Absolute Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Last Amazon comic book, written by Kelly Thompson, introduces a new iteration of the character within the DC Absolute Universe. This universe, established following a conflict between the Justice League and Darkseid, presents a darker and more brutal setting where heroes lack their traditional advantages.

In this continuity, Princess Diana of Themyscira was sent to the underworld as an infant by Zeus as punishment for the Amazons' disobedience. Raised by the sorceress Circe, Diana has developed powerful magical abilities and uses weaponry forged in Hell. The narrative explores her return to the surface to defend the world, emphasizing the heavy price of magic and her complex, maternal relationship with Circe.
