Abu Dhabi advances cultural and tourism projects to boost global standing
Abu Dhabi is progressing with a suite of flagship cultural and tourism initiatives aimed at cementing its role as a global hub for creativity and the creative economy. Key developments include the Saadiyat Cultural District, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum, the Abu Dhabi Sphere entertainment complex on Yas Island, and a planned Disney resort.
Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Under‑Secretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said the projects support sustainable development, economic diversification and an improved quality of life. He noted that the emirate has continued construction according to approved plans despite shifts in global travel, while also providing accommodation for stranded travelers. Abu Dhabi’s selection to host the 2029 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund underscores growing international confidence in the emirate’s cultural and tourism strategy.
