Abu Dhabi and Dubai lead global urban competitiveness rankings
Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been identified as leading global cities for economic opportunity, livability, and social capital, according to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Cities of Choice 4.0 report.
The study, which evaluated 80 cities across five dimensions—Economic Opportunities, Livability, Social Capital, Engagement with Governments, and Speed of Change—positions the United Arab Emirates as a highly competitive urban destination. The report notes that UAE cities consistently outperform the global average in nearly every resident experience measure.
Specific rankings for Dubai include a first-place global position for social connections and a 12th-place ranking in social capital. Additionally, Dubai secured fifth place globally for economic opportunities, making it the only city in the Middle East to reach the top five in that category.
