Abu Dhabi authorities warn of fines for blocking emergency vehicles

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has announced that drivers who fail to yield to emergency vehicles will face a Dh3,000 fine, six traffic points, and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.

This announcement is part of the ‘Don’t Hesitate. . . Give Way Immediately’ campaign, a collaborative effort involving Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Health, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport. The initiative aims to encourage motorists to clear paths for ambulances and fire engines promptly, emphasizing that delays can worsen medical emergencies or fire incidents and endanger emergency crews.
