Abu Dhabi economy shows strength in banking and real estate
Abu Dhabi's financial and real estate sectors reported significant growth in the third quarter of 2026. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) announced a 27 percent increase in net profit after tax to Dh10.296 billion for the first nine months of the year. This growth was driven by higher lending, deposit expansion, and stronger non-interest income. The bank's total assets reached Dh890 billion, a 20 percent increase year-on-year, while net customer loans rose 18 percent to Dh469 billion.
Simultaneously, the Abu Dhabi residential real estate market recorded Dh21.5 billion in transactions during Q3 2026, totaling 6,085 transactions. According to Savills Middle East, residential properties accounted for approximately 83 percent of the emirate's total property sales value for the first three quarters of the year, generating Dh96.8 billion. Market trends indicate a shift toward higher-value purchases, particularly within the luxury and off-plan segments.
