Abu Dhabi introduces free visa program for Indian tourists

Abu Dhabi has launched a free visa initiative specifically targeting Indian tourists to bolster its international tourism market. The program, managed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, aims to increase visitor numbers and compete with regional destinations like Dubai and Doha.

To qualify for the visa waiver, Indian passport holders must book a holiday package through approved travel agencies or verified online platforms. These packages must include a round-trip flight from India and a minimum of three consecutive nights of hotel accommodation in Abu Dhabi.

The pilot program is scheduled to run from August 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026, with an initial target of 20,000 visas. The Abu Dhabi government will cover the visa costs, which amount to approximately 285 Dirhams ($78) per person, by reimbursing participating travel companies through direct payments or a voucher system.
