Abu Dhabi prepares for major jiu-jitsu championships

Abu Dhabi is preparing for two significant jiu-jitsu events at the Mubadala Arena. The seventh round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship is scheduled to take place from September 18-20, 2026. This competition features male and female Gi divisions across Under-18, Adult, and Masters categories, as well as children’s divisions. Currently, Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club leads the standings, followed by Palms Sports — Team 777 and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club.

Additionally, preparations are underway for the 18th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, set for November 9-21. The organizing committee aims to accommodate approximately 12,000 international athletes and global media. The event seeks to expand its international reach and increase local participation, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a global destination for the sport.
